In the midst of the refugee crisis, we got the assignment to research the crisis and design a project for it. The research was quite easy because there was news about the crisis everywhere.
In the midst of the refugee crisis, we got the assignment to research the crisis and design a project for it. The research was quite easy because there was news about the crisis everywhere.
The assignment my team was assigned with, was to design something that would show the human side of the refugees in the form of a portrait. We did a lot of tests and came up with the idea to go to a refugee center and make something with them. We did this because as three students raised in a safe and secure country, we couldn’t do the experiences the refugees had justice if we made the portraits our self’s.
We created a workshop for them where they could sculpture a good memory they have of their homeland and one they made when staying in the Netherlands. While doing the workshop we filmed and asked them about the memory that they were sculpting.
